The colour of a permanent marker is normally produced with a colourant (dye). Due to recent improvements in the cleaning power of detergents, dyes may dissolve during washing, and this may cause them to fade or to transfer to other fabrics. As a permanent marker with relatively good colour fastness to washing, we offer Artline Laundry Marker.
A transparent membrane is formed on the nib to prevent the ink from drying out. This membrane is breached when it makes contact with paper during writing and then forms again. This is just a simple preventive measure for when users forget to put the cap on. When not in use, please store the pen with the cap on.
The entire length of the coloured plastic is the cap. It can be removed by turning clockwise while holding the centre of the marker’s body.
They cannot be changed because the marker’s performance is based on matching the ink and the shapes of the nib and body.
We offer Artline MARKER FOR FABRIC in white.
Each body supports replacement of the nib 3 times and refilling of the ink about 9 times (according to our test results). If the above numbers of times are exceeded, the reservoir within the body will degrade, and problems may occur such as slow restoration of function after refilling of ink and written lines fading quickly.
Unfortunately, we do not provide the data.
Xstamper
The sizes of the particles that form their colours are different, with them being small for dyestuff ink and big for pigment ink. The characteristics of each are as follows.
Dyestuff ink →Easy to apply to objects being stamped and suitable for continuous stamping
Pigment ink → Can clearly render impressions and has excellent water and fade resistance
The ink can just be patiently wiped off with tissue, cotton swabs, or a rag. There are no special cleaners for this, but soaking a rag with rubbing alcohol or absolute ethanol is effective for wiping off the body.
TAT
Only the volume of ink is different; the ink itself is the same (“1” indicates 55 ml, and “3” indicates 330 ml).
As a guideline for their shelf lives, we recommend using them up within about 3 years of the manufacturing date or within 1 year after opening. However, please note that these are guidelines for their shelf lives, not expiration dates.
If the amounts are small, they can be disposed of as combustibles after soaking them into tissue or a rag and allowing them to evaporate sufficiently. If you are disposing of large amounts, please consult an industrial waste disposal service.
This is due to the nature of the dye, as its components concentrate at the edges of impressions (uneven impressions) during the drying process. In some cases, this situation can be improved by creating the impression with a mesh or dots, so please consider changing the stamp.
Customization
It is possible to remove them with absolute ethanol or other solvents. If an impression is difficult to remove, please use the applicable solvent for the TAT ink. If the stamped object is stained, it will be difficult to remove the impression.
Our products are intended for use on flat surfaces, so they are not suitable for stamping on curved surfaces.
Xstamper cannot be saturated TAT ink because they do not have a mechanism to maintain airtightness between the body and cap and because the material of the body is not suitable for TAT ink.
We offer a specifically designed product for marking on tyres. It is not for general sale, so please see the details at the page below. TAT Liquid Stamp HD
It cannot be modified because it is designed to be airtight.
Usage and precautions
The inks within their bodies will dry out, as they both contain volatile inks. Please try the recovery measures for ink with the dedicated solvent. → TAT SOLVENT, regular dry (55ml.)
Since the pigment components penetrate into the fabric's fibres, white TAT ink is not suitable for stamping on fabric.
If dirt or oil is adhered to the object to be stamped, strong adhesion will not be possible. Adhesion may be stronger if the object to be stamped is first cleaned with alcohol or another cleaner.
Rubber stamps made from natural rubber, such as red rubber, will be dissolved by solvents. Please use a solvent- and oil-resistant rubber stamp.
Please ensure that caps/lids are secured on tightly to prevent the ink from drying out and store products in a cool, dark place. Stampers and stamp pads come with an aluminium bag. Please place them in their respective bags and store them with the bag closed.
The solvent is not intended for dilution. It is a maintenance product to be used when the viscosity of the surface of TAT Stamp Pad (or the stamping surface of TAT Stamper).
TAT Uninked Stamp Pad is not intended to be completely saturated with ink. Please apply the volume of ink necessary according to the size of the rubber stamp, etc.
Please use an oil-resistant rubber stamp that is resistant to slipping when stamping.
Impressions stamped with TAT ink rest in the form of dried dye on top of objects that are stamped. Therefore, they disappear if they are subjected to strong friction (because they are scraped off).
It is related to the adhesion between the object stamped and ink. TAT ink is basically unsuitable for materials that are highly water repellent or cannot be bonded, however, "SPECIAL TYPE INK FOR SPECIAL MATERIAL" shows some of the inks available.
It is not recommended because TAT Stamper is made for use vertically downward. If it is used in a different way, its performance, such as the number of times it can stamp, will be significantly inferior.
Blowing air on the impressions is effective, as it has an influence on the evaporation of the volatile elements in the ink.
We do not offer such products, as the ink within the pad would dry out. Please apply the volume of ink necessary to TAT Uninked Stamp Pad (product number: ATU-) each time.
Specifications and performance
Products with “N” in their item codes are those for which some components were altered in 2009 to comply with chemical substance regulations. Although the new inks are compatible with the previous ones, we do not recommend mixing them because the previous inks were manufactured a long time ago.
Please use TAT products at temperatures of about 0℃ to 40℃, assuming a normal indoor environment. If the temperature is below the recommended usage environment temperature, the viscosity of ink will increase, and the drying speed of impressions may be slower. If the temperature is above the recommended usage environment temperature, the evaporation rate of the solvent will increase, and this may result in unclear impressions and a decrease in adhesion strength.
It is virtually impossible to produce inks that are completely free of halogens, but they are produced in accordance with the standards for halogen-free products.
The dyes of the inks contain chromium, but it is trivalent chromium, not harmful hexavalent chromium.
Impressions made with black ink are almost completely nonconductive because very few components remain in them and they are coated with a synthetic resin.
We have conducted tests up to about 200℃. According to our test data, black TAT ink is heat resistant, whereas white TAT ink exhibits discolouration and other effects and is less heat resistant.
Flexible PVC contains plasticisers to soften it, and these components are not suitable for stamping with TAT inks.
There are no stamp pads that are prefilled with white ink, as it separates over time and its colour components precipitate due to the nature of the white dye. But we have white TAT ink and stamp pad separately. Please use TAT Uninked Stamp Pad (item code: ATU-) and apply the amount of ink needed to it each time.
For stamp pads and TAT Stampers, the inks used for stamping require some time to dry because of the risk of them drying in the body. Unlike marker ink, they do not dry immediately by nature when applied to paper or other materials.
In addition to versatile ready-made inks, such as multi-purpose ink (STGA), ink for plastic (STP), and ink for metal (STM), we also offer special inks that can be used in specific settings, such as stamping objects and secondary processing. Please refer the "STAMP INK-APTITUDE CHART OF IMPRESSION" and "SPECIAL TYPE INK FOR SPECIAL MATERIAL".
Its initial capability is about 8,000 times (according to our test values). If the ink is refilled, it can be used more. Note) The number of times varies depending on the environment and method of use.
TAT Uninked Stamp Pad (item code: ATU-) has a lock on the cover to ensure airtightness. It also comes with an aluminium storage bag, and the pad itself is comprised of a material with high chemical resistance. In contrast, Uninked Stamp Pad (item code: EHJU-) is a general stamp pad.
The drying time depends on the stamp (number and size of large filled areas, etc.) and amount of ink adhered at stamping. You can see drying time in the link below. Note that reference values are the results of our tests. SPECIAL TYPE INK FOR SPECIAL MATERIAL
It is made in Japan.
Please try M-99A or M-100A ink, both of which have opacifying properties. They are comprised of a white pigment and colouring dye, with the white pigment serving as an underlay. Both are separative inks, so please shake them well before use. Please refer the "SPECIAL TYPE INK FOR SPECIAL MATERIAL".
Ink for plastic (STP) can likely be used, but it would not be suitable for settings in which winding or stacking processes are carried out for films immediately after stamping, as it takes time for impressions to dry. Please refer the "SPECIAL TYPE INK FOR SPECIAL MATERIAL".
